I just found out yesterday that some women have finally formed a roller derby league for Alaska! I am so excited! Last night I was editing Matthew’s MySpace page and clicked on one of the links to the bars he goes to. They had a bulletin about karaoke with Eddie P (a karaoke jay who knows me personally hehe). One of their MySpace comments was by the AK roller derby league! Woo hoo! I clicked on the link and looked around their page a bit. Seems they just started up! I won’t be able to play this year of course – haha – but I will be able to try out next year after the baby is a year old. This is just so exciting. It’s something I have really wanted to try and now I may get the chance :bananadance:

The weather has been crazy cold. I can’t stand being in it for more than a few seconds. I guess I’m really not a true Alaskan. My heart still belongs to Hawaii. The kids enjoy it. They still want it to snow. Me thinks they are crazy! Speaking of kids – it looks like the teachers are going on strike soon which really cuts into my birthing plans. We were hoping after the baby was born school would be out, so we wouldn’t have to worry about it. Now though, if the teachers do strike, the kids will have to make up whatever time they lost which could go into June. So that sucks.

It’s been like Christmas around the house. I bought a lot of baby stuff off the internet. Things that weren’t on my registry that people probably wouldn’t buy anyway. It’s been fun waiting for the mailman to show up with my special delivery. I just love staring at the baby stuff and daydreaming of what this little girl will look like. I can’t wait. I’m finally beginning to feel excited about the whole thing. Before I felt all blah about it.

Lani and I have a bet going. She says the baby will come out with blonde hair and have blue eyes. I am really hoping for a brunette baby with green or hazel eyes. I have to pass my eye color onto someone in this family!

The weather here sucks! It’s been below 0 all week and looks to stay that way for a while. I won’t let the kids out to play because its too cold for them. When it’s like this, I really start to miss Florida…

If you ever get pregnant – don’t register at Burlington! They suck! We ordered a beautiful 4 in 1 crib (turned into a toddler then full sized bed) from them and they don’t even have the thing in stock – we just learned this after putting $70 down on it a month ago! The Bassinet we ordered came in two weeks ago and they didn’t call us. So they sold it! And some of the stuff on our registry online has disappeared! I would have registered elsewhere, but Burlington had the biggest variety of baby stuff all in one place.

We ended up buying a cheap white crib at Walmart. It turns into a toddler bed, but that’s it. Definitely not what I had in mind, or wanted at all, but it will do for now. We also re-ordered the Bassinet. Hopefully they keep it for us and don’t sell it again. By March 5th we should know.

I took my glucose test yesterday and had blood drawn. It wasn’t that bad to drink, but man I felt horrible afterward. We had to go grocery shopping and I was jittery and had a headache the entire time. When we came home about lunch time, I crashed. Luckily we had bought some food from the deli and that helped. I went to bed after that. I won’t know the results of the test for at least a week I think. I hope I pass! I hear the 3-hour glucose test is worse.

My stomach pain came back last night. I wonder if it had anything to do with all the sugar I consumed. It was pretty bad, but I managed to lay down and watch a couple movies with Matt. I tossed and turned in bed all night and got up a billion times to pee, so I didn’t get much sleep. This morning the pain isn’t nearly as bad as it was. I just can’t figure out why its happening now and wasn’t happening last month, or the month before. I’m supposed to call the specialist I saw a couple months ago and then arrange an appointment. But by the time I do all this, the pain will be gone and there will be no point. She only wants to see me when I’m actually having the symptoms. I wish she made house calls.

I was being a sweet/good mommy and downloaded some songs Lani loves, onto my Mp3 player. Well she has been listening to it every day, every hour. And she is singing! Loudly!

I think I know how my parents once felt when they would say “Mary, quiet down in there!” Haha.

Lani, like her mother, wants to be a singer too. Boy am I in for it.

p.s. had the ultrasound yesterday and everything looks good…my pain is almost completely gone and no more contractions…we have no idea what it was. I did have a 1 inch tear in my placenta, but was told by the technician that it has probably been there a little while since there is no fresh blood in it. Phew
