Things are getting better. I still think about Erin from time to time, but I feel that I’m healing.

As for life, its busy. I have a party this week, followed by another next week. Then another on the 24th. In between that, we will be celebrating Leilani’s 11th birthday. Then comes May when chaos ensues. I’ll be having a birthday, Lauralei will be turning 2, I have 3 parties, and then school is out. Whew!

I do hope that my parties won’t burn out over the summer. I’m having so much fun teaching the pole parties. And I’m still learning the ropes of how to do this business.

There isn’t much more to tell…

I did audition for Alaska’s Got Talent which was just an audition for America’s Got Talent. Nobody called me, so I assume I’m not what they are seeking. I think I did a decent job, but oh well. Their loss right?

It was nice having Leilani watch me. None of the kids had ever been to an audition before. She calmed me. She stood right behind the camera man, so when I got nervous I looked at her and all was right with the world. Looking at her even helped me remember the words! I love that kid. Even if she does drive me insane with her constant chatter.

My X-POLE should be arriving tomorrow (I hope!). I ordered it because though I love my Lil Mynx Pole, I needed something less invasive to put under people’s ceilings. Already I scraped the paint off of a friend’s ceiling and I don’t want that to happen again, or worse. Its portable, but I don’t think its as ceiling friendly as the X-POLE. And the X-POLE spins too!

I made Bronze last month with Brown Bag. I reached over $500 in sales and had one rep under me. Now I have 2. My goal is to reach Gold in the next few months (that requires 5 reps under me). But ultimate goal is to reach Executive by next year (which requires 10 reps). That would be awesome! And I’ll be making a lot more money. I can see myself staying at that level for a long time…

What I really want to do is…Get good at it. Learn advanced moves. Be fit. Then someday buy a retail space and turn it into a pole studio…and if I don’t get there, I can always work as a teacher at one, so I guess its not a total loss. I know I’m dreaming…and when I dream, I dream big. But who doesn’t?

Moving On Up!

February was a whirlwind of activity! I had 5 parties! One practically every week. I have my 6th party next weekend. Luckily two people booked from my last party but those aren’t until April, so I am crossing my fingers I get more soon.

Matt set me up with my own checking account and I have a credit/debit card. I love it because it’s making me more accountable for my spending. Normally if I were to buy something I’d swipe a random credit card in my wallet (we have way too many) and never worry about where the money came from or how much I spent. But now that I know exactly how much I have in my account, I’m more cautious.

I feel so independent now!

Last week I signed up a new recruit. So now I can say I have a “downline”! If she becomes active this month (by having a party), I will move up to Bronze!!! I am really excited about that, so I’m trying to help her with whatever she needs. I can’t believe I’ve moved along so fast! My upline just moved up to Bronze and she has been doing Brown Bag for a year!

Yesterday Forrest and I finally had some together time. I bought him a hot chocolate, a book at Barnes & Noble he’d been wanting, and a flannel sheets set at Bed, Bath & Beyond.

I can’t explain how nice it feels to be able to buy whatever I want for the kids and NOT feel guilty later for buying it. Matt did try to stop me by giving me a lecture on how the kids didn’t need new sheets and that I should buy them at Walmart because they would be cheaper (and crappier quality duh).

Next time I’m not going to tell him my plans. It’s my money and I earned it.

Just a quickie

Things are going really good for me right now. My business is running smoothly, even though I had to sort out a few kinks and I have a few people interested in parties! I am so glad I decided to join Brown Bag because the pole and the toys go so well together. People are more interested in parties this time around than they were when I was with the other company (which I hope is doing poorly…I’m so evil).

Convention is in April, but I don’t think I’m going. Its going to cost an arm and a leg and dividends don’t come until October, so I will aim for next year.

Family wise things are fine.

Leilani is becoming a social butterfly (not like she wasn’t before) and volunteering for EVERYTHING under the sun, including her student government. She wants to get into some type of dance class as well, but I told her only if it isn’t too expensive.

Forrest has finally begun his IGNITE classes which are for more advanced students. Right now the class is working on building miniature roller coasters which he is enjoying a lot. He has been getting a little aggressive these past few months like he did when he was 3. He sticks his fist in his mouth and smacks his arm around. He doesn’t hurt anyone (or try to), but it seems like he is regressing a bit. Luckily he has an IEP appointment next week and so we can let his therapists know our concerns.

Lauralei is going to be 21 months old on the 19th. She is talking in complete sentences now and says some pretty big words (like eyelashes! omg its so cute! we make her say it all the time, just for a giggle). I am so amazed by her growth and intelligence. Leilani and Forrest were never this advanced at her age! She is climbing up on things (she is the dare devil of the three) and its a battle to keep her clothes on, but she is definitely a lot of fun.

In just a two short months Leilani will be 11! And Lauralei will be following right behind her turning 2! Crap, that means I’m going to be older as well.

I’m no longer with Want More Fun parties. Instead of warning me that because I didn’t make $350 in sales I was going inactive, they chose to give me the silent treatment. I wrote them yet another email and my sponsor finally emailed me to say that I can always come back, but I must buy something from their website first. What?! I don’t think so!

So as a FUCK YOU, I didn’t write them back. I deleted the email address associated with them and joined Brown Bag Parties. Now I am happy as a clam! Brown Bag is legit, organized, friendly, and very supportive! I only spent $29 for my kit, opposed to the grand I spent for Want More Fun (yes I did just write GRAND)! I have a feeling we are going to be BFF.

My “launch” party is next week Friday, so I have a lot of stuff to do and I need to clean my house. Its pretty bad here. The last time I gave it a good scrubbing was a month ago. The bathrooms scare me. I sure wish I could hire a maid just to clean those and then I could do the rest. Matt won’t let me though. If I ever make enough with Brown Bags, I’m going to hire a maid once a month to clean my toilets.

Mom was supposed to fly out of here at 1am last night but the pilot had a heart attack. We’re thankful he wasn’t on the plane when it happened. My mom ended up at a hotel last night because she didn’t want to wake us. I wish she had, but it turned out ok. The hotel was decent and free and they provided a large breakfast for her. She is here with us now taking a nap upstairs. Her new flight leaves tonight around 9:00, so I get to have several more hours of her presence. We played 10 hands of Rummy last night and I won almost every game, so I’m hoping to continue that lucky streak.

I wish she would move here, but she hates to be cold. She had an idea to buy a house here and come only during the summers, but I told her that would be too expensive and she would have to find someone to live in the house during the winters. Last night I thought of a solution to her idea. She could help us buy a large house and we could pay half of the mortgage and one of us could be the co-signer. That way we would be taking care of it, but she would also have a place to stay every year. I suggested a home with a mother-in-law apartment or a home that had room to build one. She had a funny look when I spoke, so I’m assuming she doesn’t like my idea.

Uh oh. It sounds like mom is up from her nap. I’d better publish this before she pops up behind me and begins reading.
