I’m glad you wrote this. One thing that happens to me that my family refuses to understand is besides having an actual shortness of breath episode when I visit a place with a dog I almost invariably get a chest cold for 2-3 days after, and hack up all sorts of lovely stuff.

It’s odd — I don’t think a single one of my family would visit us if they were guaranteed to be sick for days after — yet they tend to see this thing as an inconvenience to me, like maybe watery eyes or something.

I’ve tried to find information on the net about my propensity for chest colds after dander exposure, but I generally get 10 million pages about “pet allergies” — meaning, of course, info on how to treat allergies your dog might have (is he allergic to soy? Doggie shampoo?). Ugh.

If you find any good clear info on how an allergy attack in a person with asthma just basically takes down the whole system and makes you sick for days, please post.

I’m so sorry Mary. As far as Bankruptcy goes while it isnt great it also isnt the end of the world. We filed years ago. It only took a couple of years and we started getting credit card offers again and we were still able to get this house. Keep the faith sweets!

The pie sounds yummy Mary. Sorry to hear about Erin and you. I would say that she will come around but from what you have told me about her I’m not so sure. I guess only time will tell. Sorry to hear you’ve been having a rough time of it lately!! I am appauled at how your family treated you while you were visiting!! Hopefully the pole thing might pick up, maybe more word of mouth will help, it might just take some time. And that really sucks about Erin. I think she’s being selfish and unreasonable. I’m sure she missed you and wished you were there, but doesn’t she have any siblings or anyone else who could have helped her?? I mean, she’s got to understand the cost and the trouble travel can be with three kids! I hope that in time she can at least talk to you about this. I’m wishing you good things in 2009!!

Mmm, you keep making all this yummy stuff! You should post this stuff on my blog! Or send me the recipe and some pics if you have any and I’ll post it on there. I still want that dumplings recipe, too.

I hope things work out with Erin, I think she will come to her senses with some time. Have you tried writing her a letter?
